On the afternoon of Thursday 21st September, the Master was very pleased to admit the Deputy Mayor of London for Business, Rajesh Agrawal, to the Freedom of the Guild of Entrepreneurs.
The Court approved Mr Agrawal’s application for the Freedom almost 18 months ago, just before his appointment as Deputy Mayor in June last year. His commitments in the UK and internationally place great demands on his time, and he thanked the Master for her patience whilst diaries were aligned for this special ceremony of admission.
Rajesh founded RationalFX in 2005, and Xendpay in 2014, both companies utilising technology to reduce the cost of international money transfer for businesses and individuals. Rajesh is passionate about promoting entrepreneurship and creating opportunities for young people. He was appointed Chair of Oxfam’s Enterprise Development Programme in 2015 and has been a Patron of the Prince’s Trust for many years.
The Master, Kate Jolly, reflected on how Rajesh’s entrepreneurial and charitable credentials complemented the Guild’s ethos, and looked forward very much to his active participation in the Guild’s outreach and charity work.
