Lord Mayor, Sheriffs and City Dignitaries and the livery welcomes new Guild of Entrepreneurs

27th November 2014 – The City of London welcomed a new addition to the Livery and Guilds this week as the new Guild of Entrepreneurs was launched. The historic ceremonial occasion at Ironmongers Hall was held in the presence of Rt Hon the Lord Mayor, Alderman Alan Yarrow, Alderman and Sheriff Dr. Andrew Parmley, Sheriff Fiona Adler and their partners together with one hundred and twelve Masters and Clerks from seventy two other Liveries and Guilds in what was believed to be an unprecedented turn out for the launch and installation of a Guild’s officers.

Twenty six new Freemen were admitted, from which the Guild’s Court (equivalent to a board of directors) was installed, by Foundation Master, Alderman Sir Paul Judge who said: “The support the Guild of Entrepreneurs received from so many of the existing Livery Companies and Guilds, both old and new, demonstrates how the City is recognised as a hotbed of entrepreneurial talent and the Livery and Guilds have an important role in developing and supporting that.”

Escorted by the Pikemen and Musketeers of The Honourable Artillery Company, all new Freemen received their certificates and the following were installed as officers of the Guild:

Foundation Master: Alderman Sir Paul Judge

Senior Warden: Daniel Doherty
Middle Warden: Judith Donovan CBE
Junior Warden: Alderman Peter Hewitt

Court Assistants:
