19 – Sept : The September Court Dinner

By kind permission of the Master of the Worshipful Company of Pewterers, the Guild of Entrepreneurs is delighted invite Freemen and guests to Pewterers’ Hall to witness a very special Freedom Ceremony, sparkling drinks reception and the September Court Dinner.

The Master, Mr Peter Hewitt, will preside over historic ceremonies to admit yet more Freemen, including, by special invitation, Prof Philip Ogden as an Honorary Freeman.

The September Court is the final Court Meeting of the Master’s year of office, and this dinner is noted for its reflective and cheerful atmosphere. Many will recall the poetic leanings of the Master’s predecessors, and expectations are high for this year!

The dress code is Dinner Jacket (aka black tie). For gentlemen this means a black cloth dinner jacket and trousers with black shoes and a black bow tie, white shirt with a turned-down collar. Ladies may wear evening trousers or cocktail dresses.

Timings and Arrivals

Invitations pour memoire will not not be sent for this event.

A Ceremonial Court to admit new Freemen will begin in the Court Room at 7.15pm, and all are very warmly invited to witness this. Please note that no entry to the room will be possible during the Court itself, so please ensure you arrive in good time.

Drinks will be served following the Ceremonial Court, at about 7.30pm, and a three-course dinner (at which the Master speaks) is at 8pm.

Dinner will conclude at approximately 10pm, and there will be an opportunity to enjoy drinks in the Hall thereafter.
