Tuesday 8th March 2016,
Freemen and their business contacts and other Livery guests, converged on the magnificent Headquarters Ship Wellington, moored at Temple Steps at Victoria Embankment, for an exquisite drinks reception on deck followed by a wonderful formal three course lunch and wine in the dining area below deck. HQS Wellington is the floating livery hall of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners and we were privileged to be able to hold our function on that very special ship which was built in 1934 and saw active duty during World War 2. The wine flowed and the food was superb including a spectacular dessert comprising a whole baby pineapple!
Following the lunch, our Deputy Master Sir Paul Judge, introduced the Guilds guest speaker for the day, Claire Cockerton herself a serial entrepreneur and global leader and CEO of ENTIQ who delivered an inspiring and enlightening address.
Our thanks to the Fellowship and Events committee for their sterling work in arranging such a fantastic occasion which certainly impressed Freemen and their guests alike.
