On Friday 15th December, 2017, under heavy but restrained skies, a large congregation of friends and relatives of Sir Paul Judge commemorated his life and legacy at the Church of St Lawrence Jewry next Guildhall. The Lord Mayor and Mrs Bowman took their seats amongst Aldermen, Common Councilmen, Masters, Clerks and representatives of the very many organisations and institutions that Sir Paul touched with his generosity and ready wit.
Tributes led by Sir Paul’s widow, Lady Barbara Judge CBE, praised the vitality and influence of a life led fully.
Sir David Wootton, fellow Alderman and friend, described, in appropriately generous terms, the enormous number of achievements of Sir Paul in the City of London.
Sir Paul’s role as Foundation Master and Sponsoring Alderman of the Guild of Entrepreneurs will be remembered in perpetuity, and the Master recorded the Guild’s gratitude in a book of condolence signed by the hundreds of well-wishers in attendance.
